Two years after discovering my grandparents' love letters and uncovering their story, my father and I brought their words to life through original watercolor illustrations, scans of the original letters, original photographs, and my own narration.
Thousands of miles apart, my grandparents shared a daily ritual they called "coffee hour." At the same time each day, they would sit down with a cup of coffee, write their letters, and dream of the day they would finally reunite. A coffee table book seemed best.
As I uncovered the story, I found myself connecting with my grandmother's journey to fall in love for the first time. I felt compelled to create this book to help her story travel beyond the letters and hopefully reach others. Through my narration, I invite you into the world they created together to escape from the war around them.
Each book includes an invite to a Book Club I created to help connect others (including myself) who have resonated with My Darling. Hope to hear from you!

My Darling is a beautiful coffee table book based on a true love story between Bill and Helen during WWII. Their letters will take you on an incredible journey of how two people yearn, shared their biggest insecurities, and formed a bond that shows real connection. It has truly changed my view about love! Also, another thing, that is special about the book is Drew did a wonderful job in transcribing the letters and his family did a beautiful job with the illustrations that bring the book to life

There’s something incredibly moving about reading a love story that was never meant to be one. I am only 6 months into Bill and Helen’s exchange of letters and am captivated by their story.
